Hammocks provide multiple benefits for my son with autism. He has told me on numerous occasions that his body and brain always feel better after being hugged in a hammock. It doesn’t matter how big of a meltdown he is having or how tough of a day, his “hammock hug” helps him feel better. When CJ doesn’t need to have alone time or calm down from a meltdown, his little sister, CG, likes to gently swing him in the hammock. This allows for socialization, as well as sibling bonding time amongst each other.
