Handprint Crab Craft

handprintcrab

This handprint crab craft is a fun way to kick-off the summer!

You will need: paint, markers, goggly eyes, paper platesconstruction paper, and tropical stickers.

1.  Put paint on a paper plate and have your child(ren) put their hands in the paint palms down (Yes…encourage them to get paint on their hands!).

2.  Have them gently press down on the paper, palms down, wrists together, thumbs pointing up, to form a crab.

3.  After the paint is dry, add eyes (you can use goggly eyes or simply draw eyes) and a mouth.

4.  Decorate the rest of the paper using tropical stickers and other embellishments to personalize.

Some of my kiddos’ and my favorite children’s books about the beach include:

Good Night Beach

The Seashore Book

Hello Ocean

Commotion in the Ocean

Over in the Ocean: In a Coral Reef

What Lives in a Shell?

I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean!

Pete the Cat: Pete at the Beach

Clam-I-Am!: All About the Beach
