Combine a sensory experience with fine motor practice while creating a cute candy cane craft.
You will need: red construction paper, cotton balls, liquid glue, scissors, pencil or marker.
- Trace a candy cane or the letter “j” on red construction paper.
- Cut out the candy cane (depending on your little one’s age/ability, have them cut for fine motor practice).
- Have your little one squeeze liquid glue onto the paper (more fine motor practice). Then have them place cotton balls on top of the glue (have them feel the cotton balls; talk about what they feel; rub cotton balls on their face; discuss this sensory experience together).
- Allow to dry.
