Did you know that sea stars (starfish) have many arms, but no legs? Most sea stars have five arms, but some have more than 50 arms! This activity has excellent sensory benefits and is a lot of fun!
You will need: sand, glue, brush, scissors, cardboard, markers, sea shells, and a pencil.
1. Have your little marine biologist draw a sea star shape on the cardboard. Then cut it out.
2. Have them decorate the sea star with markers.
3. Using a brush, spread glue over the sea star. Then sprinkle sand onto to the glue and allow to dry.
4. They can also add sea shells or any other embellishments that may add to their unique sea star.
