This cute craft lends itself for a mini-lesson on seasons (spring) and weather (rain), as well as fine-motor practice.
You will need: cupcake liner, pipe cleaner, blue pieces of tissue paper, blue glitter glue, tape, construction paper, and glue.
1. Make the umbrella by twisting a pipe cleaner in the shape of a “j.” Gently poke the top of the pipe cleaner through the bottom middle of the cupcake liner (twist top of pipe cleaner back through the liner). Glue (or tape) the bottom of the umbrella handle (pipe cleaner) and the top of the umbrella (cupcake liner) to the construction paper.
2. Glue bits of blue tissue paper and blue glitter glue around the construction paper to look like rain.
3. Allow to dry.
4. Discuss spring, rain, colors, etc. with you little one(s) while they admire their masterpiece.
